J.L.Giles Rivera (San Juan, 1976) is a professional artist who works on figurative subjects as well as abstraction. He has taught Art Appreciation courses at the University of Puerto Rico´s Fine Arts Department and delivered art workshops at the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico and the School of Fine Arts (EAP) in San Juan. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Puerto Rico (1999), a Master of Fine Arts-Painting from the Academy of San Carlos (Mexico City, 2002), and a Doctorate of Fine Arts-Painting from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain (2008).
He also investigates several art related theoretical subjects. His favorite one is the concept of spirituality and transcendence in art.
He currently works in his studio in Valencia, Spain.
